Organisation structure

Rotterdam University is a versatile source of energy.  Here you can implement, re-use, fill-up and strengthen your energy in all sorts of ways.  We have positions on intermediate vocational, bachelor and university level. Furthermore, we offer all sorts of positions, departments and terms of employment. You can work full-time or part-time. With respect to content, our positions can be divided into four categories: teaching, managerial, support and research oriented. Below we will explain how this works.

Teaching

People teaching at Rotterdam University are either trainees, lecturers, core lecturers, university lecturers or head lecturers. They each have their own set tasks aimed at the basic principle of sharing and transferring knowledge. Tasks involve the preparation of lectures, the participation in educational development, the guidance and coaching of students and the preservation of contacts with the professional field.

Managerial

Managing at Rotterdam University is possible on more than just management level. People with vision and the ability to enthuse others for this vision can be found managing people and processes all throughout Rotterdam University. These people are able to generate energy and make sure that this is implemented and used in the most efficient way.

Support

Without the right support, Rotterdam University cannot be professional, innovative and enterprising. Or to continue on from our previous metaphor: we would slowly lose our energy, leading to a short circuit, blown fuses and black screens. At Rotterdam University, support positions involve crucial processes such as assisting in effective information data flow, efficient use of space, communication, administration and education.

Research oriented

Our research groups are young and dynamic organisations, pointed towards the development of practice-based education and the circulation of knowledge. Researchers are to preserve their current contacts and build on from them where possible. They publicise and present results which can be embedded in education and the professional practice.

Applying for a job

If you put in an application, this will be directed to the school or service that is hiring for the position that you are applying for. You will receive a confirmation of receipt within ten minutes. We aim to round off the selection procedure within four weeks.

Of course you will want to know as much as possible about the job that has caught your eye before you actually do apply. You can retrieve this information from the website or opt for a personal approach. Each vacancy mentions the contact details of the person that you can reach for further information and/or comments.

Should an internal candidate apply for the same job, then he or she will have right of way over your application considering equal suitability.
